What Does Motorhome Servicing Cover?

There are two parts to your motorhome service:

Motorhome Base Vehicle Service

The base vehicle of your motorhome needs servicing at the intervals recommended by the manufacturer. These services focus on the engine and mechanical components so that your motorhome remains roadworthy.

For the MOT, most motorhomes fall under the standard Class 4 test, similar to cars. In some cases, motorhomes may be classified differently, for example, as vans with windows or MPVs. But they still require the same MOT standards for passenger vehicles.

Motorhome Habitation Servicing

The living area of your motorhome should be serviced annually by a specialist motorhome dealer or workshop. This ‘habitation’ service includes checks on essential systems like water, gas, electrics, and heating. Key areas such as damp checks, structural integrity, and appliance safety (e.g. gas-powered fridges) are all part of this comprehensive service.
